Artist:krislaughs Title: Winter's Night (Two) Characters: R/S more or less Rating: G Medium: Watercolour A/N: This was painted with a little drabblet written when it was very cold outside.
You know, I'm very glad you directed me to this xmas cards tag! This painting is wonderful. You can feel the night there, the cold and the smell and noises of the sea.
Remus' pose and Sirius' shape are so well done!
And the colouring, though unorthodox for watercolour, works very very well here.
I'm wondering though, because watercolours can take different meanings in different languages. Are you using a paint that is closer than gouache than regular watercolour (aquarelle)? Because with regular watercolour, it's very difficult, even sometimes impossible, to paint in white on a dark background. And this would explain why your colouring looks more solid and less watery than usual watercolour paintings.
But anyway, and I don't say it just to please you, this colouring works splendidly!
