It was a long week, and a few things strike me this Saturday night

1. Spending every day where I do makes me hyper-aware of the things that happen to people's pets. But I never really believe it'll happen to mine. I've mentioned some of this in passing to some of you. )

2. Then in the More Good News category, I took my car in for inspection the same day and was informed that it would require $1200 dollars worth of work to get it back. I just... Thanks world. Time to take out another student loan, even as the financial system around us crumbled.

3. On the plus side, Lazarus Rising was AWESOME BEYOND MY WILDEST IMAGINATION. spoilery questions )

4. And finally some SGA observations. more spoilers. Geez )

All things considered, I think it's time to have a big glass of wine, settle down to boards review, and thank goodness a new week starts on Monday.

I hate people

So this is the email I just got from the guy who wants to buy my car:

----

Dear Kris,

I have paid half price for the mechanics, and he gave the
evaluation of the price except the transmission filter. I think it is
cheaper. Please gave him a call before you go to pick the car.
I would like to take the car, and I hope you decrease the
price, since that is the price for last summer. I hope you can get the
transmission filter and rear light changed, and I can deal with the
rest of the repair. Let me know what do you think.

-----

What I think? WHAT I THINK? I think he has a poor grasp of the English language. I think he doesn't have his facts straight. I think he can go fuck himself is what I think. I've already priced the car (LAST NOVEMBER NOT SUMMER) at less than half its current Kelley Blue Book value -- such that even with the buyer making EVERY REPAIR UNDER THE SUN, he still gets a bargain.

WHAT THE FUCK?

It's not like the car won't sell. I only advertised it one time on one small university list-serv about two months ago. He's already proven himself a prick by making ME pay half of the estimates he wanted (even though I already have two of my own). If I don't get a copy of that report, Deal. Is. OFF. If he thinks I'm this much of a pushover, he can kiss my lily white ass:

I'm also adding the price of the new repairs (close to $300) to the old (somewhat negotiable) asking price, then we can talk.
