Supernatural drabble: Night of All Souls

So, I couldn't get my Halloween story done on time, but I was inspired by the revamping of 100_ghosts.



Title: Night of All Souls
Prompt: Skeleton in the closet

They walk down the beach, hand in hand. Watch as the S.W.A.T team surrounds a bungalow with boarded windows.

"They kill two guys," Sam says. "Homeless, crashing for the night."

"How do you--"

He knows because it happened. Papers ran the story, years ago.

So the sand sprinkled through her hair is just a memory, sun dancing in her eyes just a dream. Sam sighs.

She squeezes his hand. "Must be awful," she says. "To have to make those decisions." She stops. "But they do."

"Jess, I--"

The ocean fades. Sam opens his eyes, too late to tell.
