Almost there

Whew. Two weeks later I have a night to lay on the couch, doing nothing but watch Supernatural (for the first time in *weeks* I'll have you know, Gin)
The move is almost moved. I'm more or less unpacked. Built a fenced-in pen for my dog, and all that remains is to clean the place and find a spot for my TV.
I had to present my summer's research to a) the man who sponsored it and b) the rest of the lab group today, and it actually went okay. I have one more week there to wrap up my experiments and play with the pretty ponies. Pictures of babies and house to come in the near future.
So relieved. I've actually lost about two pants sizes and lord knows how many pounds this month-- not by diet and excersize, but by stress and forgetting to eat. Er. Whatever works I guess.
School starts again in a week. *gulp*
In the meantime, I'm a little daunted by how far removed I've been from fandom and how behind I am on my f-list. What'd I miss?

2007-08-03 17:30 (UTC)Glad to hear your moving went... well, eventually well. I'm staring down the barrel of that one on Tuesday, myself. *shudders*
I do want to pick your brain - and that phrase takes on a whole new dimension when you start hanging out in zombie-populated fandoms. huh. - about dog ownership in the area. Anywhere good to take them running/playing/sniffing? We're going to have a yard, but I'd like to give him a little variety now and then. He's kind of a curious monster.

Yep. I'm going to be over here huddled up in terror. *hides*
What'd I miss?
Oh, just the usual re-enactment of the Big Bang Theory. (Something went boom, everyone headed for the hills, and then it got really, really quiet.) Don't worry, though. The universe seems to have reformed more or less okay.

2007-08-04 02:05 (UTC)As for dog spaces, yeah there are trails local to just about every neighborhood. There's a legal off-leash park downtown by the marina (the dogs love playing in the lake) and people go off leash on a bunch of the trails-- if you can trust your dog (I can't *g*)
Funny how the world has a way of returning to status quo after every major explosion.
And no worries! First year is awesome, even if you feel a little like a) you're at some odd combination of your high school and Hogwarts and b) Dr B threw you in the deep end of the ocean and is having a blast watching you try to swim. :D
