Supernatural Recs and prompt fests
Monday, 25 September 2006 18:16Back from the big apple with apples, and recs, and some very exciting news.
---
First, if you haven't already, go prompt some crossover fic for
omniocular's October challenge.
It's more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.
---
Second, if you were gone for the weekend, or abducted by aliens, or had your head shoved into a barrel full of monkeys and managed to miss it,
ignipes wrote some DAMN STEAMY skinnydipping Winchester not-so-genfic.
Like Water
It's silly and funny and hot, cool and starlit, muddy and slimy and splashy and wonderful... like only a lake in the Adirondacks after a long day swamp-monster fighting can be.
And just because I can't help but quote one of my favorite... passages:
Sam rolled his eyes toward the starlit sky and sent his voice well into the falsetto range when he answered: "'Oh, Dean, thank you so much for saving our lives! How can we ever repay you? We've never been saved from a swamp monster from somebody so strong and manly as you!'" Sam's voice dropped, and in a fake lisping alto he went on, "'That's right, old buddy, old pal, why don't you let Susie and I take you back to our hotel room and make it worth your while. Me and the wife, we're a little adventurous, if you know what I mean. Can you teach me how to--'"
Dean decided he had better interrupt before Sam really got going. "Yeah, so? They were grateful. Big deal."
He couldn't deny that Marvin and Susie had been very grateful. More grateful than he'd thought any married couple could be, to be honest, but hey, they met all kinds in this job. It wasn't like Sam would've been any happier if he'd shut them down by saying, "Hey, guys, thanks for the offer, but I'm fucking my little brother here and I seriously doubt you can suck cock better than he can. How's that for adventurous?"
Like Water, read it and enjoy.
---
In totally unrelated news: Apparently Time Warner of Central New York has heard the masses. We are getting the CW network--not for a few more weeks, but at this point, I'm just overjoyed we get ANYTHING.
Y'all enjoy the premiere without me. I'll just wait 'til Thursday to spoil myself but good, oogle the stills, and pretend I saw it. :D

A brief stop in from the chaos that marks the first week of school.
I didn't think anything could possibly distract me from learning the five hundred plus functions of the liver tonight, but clearly I was wrong.
There's gotta be a Punch Line in Here Somewhere (Sam/Dean, NC-17)
It's a little story (although little is probably the last word I should use to describe it) by
lyra_wing. Whoops, she did it again.
I'm not sure what it is about her stories that grabs me and pulls me in and reminds me just why I love this fandom. Maybe it's the funny, so much easygoing humor. Everything about it is uplifting and smile-inducing. She shows such tenderness towards the boys without being corny feminine (really. at all) or forcing a single joke. She catches the rhythm of the Winchester bros. so flawlessly it almost hurts to read. In a good way.
It's Bodyswap.
Need I say more?
Go read it now
