100_ghosts. This is fun.
Prompt: Gluttony
Title: Another Kind of Nursery Rhyme
Before the songs, were the things of the songs.
This went to market, fed in bright colored stalls.
They were sung to warn children, then children forgot.
This one ate in the secret and shadows of home.
Meaning passed while dread things grew strong.
This thought them tender as roast beef.
But those who remember, huddled 'round worn-out tables and dusty glass, will tell their tales for a shot of Jack.
Listen.
This worked in families until there were none.
"Dude, you fugly," and sharp click of his gun.
And this little demon cried iron-red tears all the way home.
ETA Not so much a fan of this one after all. :)
