Dread worse than the Reality
I had two overnight shifts last Thursday and Friday while working full days Wed and Thurs. This amounted to roughly 48 hours straight, with small (2-3 hour) breaks for naps once or twice. I had been dreading it all week, but I really needed the money from the overnights so I agreed to take them on.
The cool thing? Was that the hospital was slow, the overnights were pretty relaxed, I set up a sleeping bag in my car to nap from 7am to 8am, I got out early on Friday afternoon for a few extra hours' sleep, and I had no major plans all weekend except brunch and wine tasting! All in all, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared and was even pretty great in the end.
I love it when that happens.
In other news, I've been watching new TV!
Dollhouse. FOX, Fridays. Meh. Not gonna lie, it's not one of Whedon's best so far. Eliza Dushku has gotten a little too skinny for my taste. I'm gonna give it a few more eps before giving up altogether.
Kings. NBC, Sundays. The actor who plays David REALLY reminds me of Heath Ledger back in his Roar days. I'm fascinated by a show set in an imaginary kingdom that looks like the US, has border wars like Africa, and a monarchy like Denmark. It's one part politics and religion, one part rich teenage playboys, and one part princess. I'm not sure the creators have completely pulled it off, but I'm rooting for them so far.
Bones. Catching up (through the beginning of S2 so far) via Netflix. I like it a lot. I assume Bones and Booth never hook up a la Mulder and Scully? The cases are interesting and the characters are memorable. Actually, the only story arc that doesn't interest me in the least is the one about Bones' family.
Battlestar Galactica. I'm still in the first season (also via Netflix). I started it once before, had no idea what was going on, and gave up. This time I went back to th mini-series, and it suddenly made sense. I'm LOVING it, yo! They take their time with the story development without feeling slow or boring. I've bought into the practicalities of their reality. I love the premise as much as the execution. I really REALLY want to know a) what happens with Gaius and b) Do Starbuck and Apollo ever get together? Because I could cut that sexual tension with a knife. (Spoilers are A. Okay)
In conclusion: there is lots of amazing and less-than-amazing TV to catch up on while waiting for new episodes of Supernatural, Merlin, and Being Human.

a) It's complicated.
b) It's complicated.
;)

Not so far, although there are rumors about this season. I haven't really been watching the current season thought, because there are things about it that are a little annoying.

b) It's complicated.
Why am I not surprised. ;) But okay... in the most literal sense is there some (b) ?

And don't forget that Sam is undeniably HOT.
The amusing thing for me is I seem to have a set quota of love for Starbuck and Lee. If I'm really loving her (seasons 1-3), I'm not so big on him. When I'm really liking him (most of season 4.5 except a very key point in Sometimes a Great Notion where he was a total asshole), I'm not liking her so much.
You'd think I'd like Lee more, given that I adore Zarek. But then, Zarek is much more entertaining. ::Sigh:: He blows shit up, and that's just fun. Must be his reaction to finding out what a wuss Apollo's become.

Sam is smokin'. Except toward the very end, but, what can you do? Though, I suppose, in the very last episode he's literally scorching. :P
*ducks*
I don't know what it is about Lee; for most of the series, I find him likable but bland. (Except possibly when he's defying Daddy in S1 and the first half of S2.) Which is odd because I love Helo, who doesn't have a particularly scintillating personality either. But then, he's not the hero. (And actually, Helo's profound sense of goodness comes as something of a relief at certain points during the series! Mmm...Helo. ♥ )

Anyway, I'm still interested in it.

Eee, BSG! Isn't it awesome? There isn't much I can add to what's been said, except that I didn't like Gaius until the very last episode - and then he had his Crowning Moment of Awesome, and I was sold.
I'm one of those weirdos who never shipped Starbuck/Apollo. I really like the guy Starbuck married. :P Which is not to say I didn't like Lee. Their sexual tension never pinged me is all.
I'm so glad you're enjoying BSG!

The LAST ep? So I get to quasi-hate him for another few seasons?!? Ah, well. Looking forward to some kind of redemption. :D
I dunno that I ship them so much as I kinda want them to fuck and get it over with *g* MARRIAGE? When do they have time for that??

Yup! And...he gets worse. There were times when I really wanted to toss him out an airlock. But the payoff is good.
MARRIAGE? When do they have time for that??
About half-way through the series, when they think they're safe from the Cylons...

He's an awesome villain, but at the same time, he's so frakking human....

Of course, as far as many shippers went, the ending was a bit of a jossing. In fact, it was a violent jossing. I got violently jossed by BSG. *ruffles up* The above notwithstanding, I liked the finale, and I think BSG was qutie true to itself throughout; watching the beginning after seeing the ending, I'm not really like, "whoa, HOW did they get from HERE to THERE?"
That said, most of my favourite episodes are in season 1, so. Go fig. Anyway, it's totally my favourite show in the world. It is just perfect. ♥ even when it's lame.
Dollhouse, watched ep 1 and half of 2 and then quit, and then a few weeks later went back and caught up, and now I'm a bit hooked.
Reading your comments on Kings, I really think I'm going to have to give it a go. It sounds awesome! And I need somethign good to feel the gaping void left by Battlestar *mopemope*.
