Happy DERBY DAY!

In honor of the race, the horse, and spring in general, I bring you... Icons! (also, I wanted some new, fresh ones for Dreamwith-- lord help me)

All stock photography from Getty Images. Feel free to take and use however you want. If you credit, it should probably go go Getty, as all I did was crop and resize them.

Sample:

Cropping is half the hardship - these are awesome!

(I think of horse racing and I think of the billboard at Monmouth Park - Go, Baby, Go!)

Cropping is fun, though ;)

Hehee. A couple of the runners in the derby were just in the area; Join in the Dance raced at Monmouth, and a few were in the Wood's Memorial at Aqueduct.

Ahhh, horse icons!! :D

I TOTALLY forgot that it's derby time and I have no idea who's running/what the favorites are. Do you have any picks?

[identity profile] krisomniac.livejournal.com 2009-05-02 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
yay horsey icons! I couldn't believe I didn't have any in my collection. Hence the searching of Getty all morning. *g*

My fave was Quality Road who was scratched last week.

The favorite, I want Revenge, was scratched this morning. That leaves Fresian Fire (with Eight Belle's trainer-- one of the cleanest in terms of drug use), Pioneerof the Nile, and Dunkirk as the top contenders.

Dunkirk and General Quarters are two pretty greys with kinda Cinderella stories. I think Dunkirk has a great shot. Really good pedigree, for what it's worth.

Mr. Hot Stuff will make a bid from behind (but I think Dunkirk's will be stronger). And don't discount Musket Man.

There's a whole lot of good horses out there. Ironically, from what I've read, the one who could beat all of them is the filly who won the Oaks yesterday...

Oh my gosh, the little fuzzy dude in 1-3 is ADORABLE.

I'm taking #27. And maybe something else. They are all very pretty.

heheh! Foals FTW. I loved the image for #27. Such a cool shot. yay, Getty!

[identity profile] krisomniac.livejournal.com 2009-05-02 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
nope, not moving. Just opened a journal there yesterday (krisomniac). Kind of a placeholder. what name do you use?

and YES, OMG!! Do you think it was just 21 or 21/22 clips? it kinda BLEW MY MMIND!

[identity profile] insight2.livejournal.com 2009-05-02 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
insight- although I don't know what to do with it and whether even to cross-post- except maybe it can act as backup that way so hmmm.

It's probably 21/22 but I will be unhappy if it is because all the Cas scenes are badass, and all the Sam scenes are so freakin' interesting AND "If you walk out that door don't you ever come back!" eep- I want it allll next Thurs, man.
