Hey! Watch your Vulcan language!
I saw Star Trek last night and OMG, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WAS RIGHT! At first, Kirk didn't impress me at all (the bar brawl scene) but as the movie went on, his manerisms and demeanor changed until, by the end, I was FULLY won over.
Same with Spock; at first all I could think was "why is Sylar wearing those funny ears" but then he won me too.
Scotty and Bones owned me from the first minute they showed up onscreen. And they own me still.
The plot was fairly tidy-- I like that it conveniently leaves open the option for a whole new series based on an AU of the whole old series. I want to read fic. I want to ship everyone with everyone else. I ADORED the enterprise. Just. So. Good.
Someone PLEASE tell me they're going to take this and run with it.

I started reading the novelization today while I was waiting at my dentist's office. A few small differences here and there, and the omniscient POV is a bit off-putting and feels lazy, though I can see how it made it much easier for the author who I'm sure was working under a tight deadline. The fact that I can picture everything from the movie also allows the author to be lazy with descriptions. But then again, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece. It's just nice to have it in written form.

Definitely nice to have it penned.
