If you're here and if you have any passing interest in two boys called Sam and Dean, you'll likely have already seen this. But on the off chance you have not, let me take a moment to rec the latest heartbreaking and magical story by ignipes.

Cartography in Empty Spaces

Written for spn_christmas, it's the story of the two-year anniversary of Dean's death on Christmas Eve. Told from Sam's point of view, the emotions are as raw and barren as the wintry Nebraskan landscape she evokes so well. Told in three parts, something very unexpected happens, and Sam's left to deal with the consequences of Dean's amnesiac return.

Uttery different from the bos we see in canon, they're also pricelessly familiar.

heh. Schweet icon. But, yeah, definitely meant Barren, as in lacking the flowery junk that shows up in so many stories. Barren, as in Sam's unresponsive state of mind when he's sure Dean is long dead and gone... devoid of the most important thing in his life. :D

Oh, boys, I just cannot get enough of them.
