A brief note: I thought a fair ammount about my characterisation of Snape before drawing this. I see him as a funny guy, dry, smart, and sardonic much in the way that Lupin is. Only Snape doesn't back his wit with the affability and good nature that Remus always has. He's reclusive, bitter, and basically not a nice guy. I believe that no matter which side he's batting for in the books, even if it's side of the angels, he's not there for noble reasons. That said, I think that he has changed through the years, that he has learned more than he would like to admit from Albus about how to behave as a man, and that when pressed, he will do the right thing.

How did I try to represent this? Without straying from the canon descriptions of Snape as a sneering, greasy-haired, big-nosed git, I try to give him the regal features I'd associate with the more attractive of the pure-blooded families. As a teenager, I imagine him to be reclusive: I mean, the guy called himself a "half-blood prince" at a time when all of his friends were pure-blood maniacs. I think this speaks to his sense of humour and self-deprecation as well as to his general alienation at that time in his life -- he's a teenager; what else would you expect?

Judging from the way he speaks of his work as an adult, the effort he put into it as a student, and the fact that he preffered the DADA post over the one he was given, I think he enjoy's the company of his brews more than that of other people. Hence the framework of this picture. As for the reflections? I leave that that interpretation entirely up to you.
